189 pages
101 black & white, 190 colour.

Thomas Struth, born in 1954 in Geldhern in the Lower Rhine region, attracted critical attention in the 1980s with seemingly unspectacular but highly complex street and cityscapes, followed by an extensive series of individual and family portraits. These gave way, in turn, to the large-sized Museum Photographs, which brought him to international fame. Struth strikes a highly concentrated approach to photography and tends to produce pictures primarily as series. No wonder, given the oeuvre, Struth has emerged as one of the leading lights of the contemporary German art scene.
