Bjorn Dahlstrom is an autodidact, that is, he is self-taught as a designer. Despite the fact, few other Swedish designers have had such great success in recent years. This book showcases close to forty examples of his designs - everything from cutlery and furniture to a pneumatic drill for Atlas Copco and an advanced bike for Skeppshult. His career as a designer has really taken off in the past few years. He has received international acclaim and been appointed to a professorship in furniture design. His design office now has a staff of six. The concept of this book originated in an exhibition of Bjorn Dahlstrom's work which was held at the Nordic embassies' 'Felleshus' in Berlin in the autumn of 2000. The whole idea was the brainchild of Bjorn Springfeldt, Sweden's Counsellor for Cultural Affairs in Germany."
