The 'Therme Vals', became an icon of contemporary Swiss and international architecture soon after it opened in 1996. An exceptional building by the celebrated Swiss architect Peter Zumthor the thermal bath in the Swiss mountain spa of Vals, is literally built, in places, into the ground of an alpine valley.
