Tita Giese (born 1942 in Nördlingen, lives and works in Dusseldorf) realizes plant landscapes in public spaces, at metropolitan squares, crossroads and in gardens around architecture. Although she studied for a few semesters with Joseph Beuys at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, she does not want to be an artist. She deals with places in urban and industrial space and helps nature to fight back a niche. Here Giese develops unique projects that move at the intersection of art, architecture, urban planning and botany. So she planted the Düsseldorf airport with bamboo, the square in front of the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg with palm trees and the Munich Salvatorpassage with creepers. Only the reeds for the Kottbusser Tor in Berlin only came to the planning stage.
